I'm using Claude to build this.

Integrate the StampMitra API (Indian identity verification and e-Stamp Paper) into my app.

API facts (source of truth: https://developer.stampmitra.in/llms.txt)
- Base URL: https://api-b2b.stampmitra.in
- Auth: send "Authorization: Bearer <key>" (or "x-api-key: <key>") on every request
- Use a SANDBOX key (sk_test_...) while building. Read it from the environment variable STAMPMITRA_API_KEY.
- Never hard-code the key, never expose it to the browser, never log it.
- Call StampMitra only from server-side code. The UI calls my own backend route.

TASK: PAN verification form
- Endpoint: POST /v1/verify/pan (scope: verification.pan.read)
- Body: { "pan": "ABCDE1234F", "name": "Rahul Kumar" } // name is optional
- Response fields: referenceId, valid, registeredName, panStatus, nameMatchResult, message
- Validate the PAN format (ABCDE1234F) on client and server. A malformed PAN returns 400.
- "valid": false is still a completed verification. Show "PAN not valid", not a crash.
- Handle 400, 401, 429 (rate limit or quota) and 5xx with friendly messages and a loading state.
- Store referenceId with the user record for audit.

Before writing code, list the files you will create or change. Then implement. If the StampMitra MCP server (@stampmitra/mcp-server) is connected, use it to test real sandbox calls.

Acceptance checklist:
- Works end to end in Sandbox
- No secrets in client code or logs
- Clear loading, empty and error states
- If anything is missing (like my key), ask me. Do not guess.

How to use it in Claude

Paste into a new Claude chat, or into Claude Code in your project folder. For live testing, add the StampMitra MCP server so Claude can call the API itself.

Before you paste

  1. 1Get a free sandbox key (sk_test_…).
  2. 2Put the key in an env var called STAMPMITRA_API_KEY. Never paste the key into the chat.
  3. 3Build and test in Sandbox. Apply for production access when it works.

Better with live tools: MCP

Claude and Cursor can call StampMitra directly through our MCP server.
